Things to do in Wengen

Engaging Activities and Attractions

Holiday village Wengen

The holiday village Wengen is located at 1.274 m above sea level at the foot of Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.
From Wengen you can reach the Jungfraujoch by train within 1.5 hours. During your train ride you can enjoy the breathtaking view on the mountains.

“The village of the Jungfrau” is not joined to network of roads and is therefore car-free. You can reach Wengen with the Wengernalpbahn form Lauterbrunnen.

Wengen is as well famous for the events. In winter the spectacular Lauberhorn race takes place and in summer the 42 km long Jungfrau-Marathon is carried out.

Snow Show in Wengen

Come and join us at our spectacular Snow Show, where our instructors display some of their best skills and tricks. If you like any of them ask your instructor to teach you during your lesson!

Music, lights and fireworks with lots of fun for kids and adults. We change our programme each year – come and see what we’ve prepared for you this season!

The show takes place at 9 pm on the Figeller slope in our Beginners Area in Wengen (behind the ice rink) on the following dates:

  • Monday, 13th February 2023
  • Monday, 27th February 2023
  • Monday, 20th February 2023

Snowbar stays open late on the night of the Snow Show so you can get a hot chocolate or gluhwein to keep you warm

Lauberhorn Race

Come to Wengen mid January to enjoy the famous Lauberhorn World Cup race. Watching the race live from the crowds is an unforgettable experience. The atmosphere in Wengen during the competition is electric, and you can bump into world famous skiers on every corner.

If you miss the race itself, you will still have a chance to ski down the famous Lauberhorn run - the piste opens for public after the competition. Our instructors can guide you down this spectacular and challenging run, showing the most exciting parts of the course on your way to the finish line.

 Good to know

While the hotels fill up quickly for the Lauberhorn week, most runs remain very empty during the time. All the attention concentrates on the Lauberhorn run where training and races are held. So you can enjoy quiet runs on all other parts of the mountain.
